The City of Marshalltown has engaged the Sports Facilities Companies and Bolton & Menk to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of youth and adult recreational sports in the community and provide actionable recommendations to enhance participation, equity, access, coordination, and quality of sports programs and facilities. The goals of this master plan is to engage deeply with Marshalltown’s diverse population, ensure inclusion and equity, produce community-informed strategies, simplify complex concepts to produce clear recommendations, untangle the inherent challenges of collaborating with multiple program providers, and streamline the recreational system to create a unified delivery model. SFC and Bolton & Menk will ultimately produce a comprehensive plan rooted in experience and expertise, provide solutions that drive reliable service delivery policies, and create a long-range plan that is responsive to the City’s current and future resources.
